Blu-Rays
For the time being, Blu-Rays will be treated largely like DVDs. The general cataloging principles behind the two is the same. However, it is very important that the catalog records reflects the fact that the item in question is a Blu-Ray and not a DVD. Look for the following items in the record and add if not present (from Joyner policies):
The music library uses accession numbers for Blu-Ray discs that begin with DVDBR- . See the music cataloger for an available accession number.
Import Blu-Ray records into Symphony as you would DVD records. Blu-Rays use the following constant data:
Labeling
Label Blu-Rays as you would DVDs, with the exception of using the prefix DVDBR- before the accession number. Add an additional label next to the front call number label that reads "Requires Blu-Ray player."
