| Description:
| This pair of Baule figures both have oversized heads, necks angled slightly forward, arms and hands carved to body, attenuated legs, large feet resting on socle bases, multiple facial scarifications, linear coiffures, and coiffure ornamentation. Both figures are by same carver and are portrait figures of a chief and his wife, with scarification marks as identification on the breast, loincloths attached, and necklaces. They are finely carved, with an exellent use patina. A. Male; [B. Female, with beads at neck - see W0127] |
