| Significance researched to date:
| The flywhisk is composed of a tail and handle. The tail is made from the hair of a sheep, goat, buffalo or ox. The handle is covered in beadwork. The flywhisk is used in ceremonies as a symbol of power and authority, like a scepter. Only chiefs have the privilege of carrying it along with other court regalia such as trumpets, gongs, leopard hides, spears, and shafts. Held in the right hand, it is used as a flywhip, and also in dances to amplify gestures.
