Long-time hospital advocates Dave and Betty Speir helped raise awareness of the need for a new hospital among their Bethel community when the bond issue arose in the early 1970s. Betty was an original member of the hospital gifts committee, later the Pitt Memorial Hospital Foundation, and Dave has served as a hospital trustee. | |||||||||||||
